Dr. Barsoumian is a Double Fellowship trained surgeon – having completed a Burn Surgery Fellowship in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the prestigious Nassau County Firefighter’s Burn Center of the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY.  Prior to completing this advanced training in Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Barsoumian successfully completed a Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Center for Advanced Surgical Specialties of North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System (Syosset Hospital.)

Dr. Barsoumian commenced his training in General Surgery over twenty years ago at the SUNY at Buffalo Graduate Medical Education Consortium. He is a graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine. He simultaneously earned a Bachelor’s (B.S. Biology) and Master’s Degree (M.S. Speech and Hearing Sciences) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He graduated in the Top 1% of his class and his name has been enshrined onto the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Bronze Tablet. In addition, Dr. Barsoumian has published original scientific and medical research in the fields of anatomy, microbiology, gastrointestinal surgery and cardiac surgery. Dr. Barsoumian has volunteered his time and expertise to heal the sick of their surgical maladies on humanitarian medical missions in Les Cayes, Haiti and Armenia.
