Dr. Barsoumian is a Double Fellowship trained surgeon – having completed a Burn Surgery Fellowship in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the prestigious Nassau County Firefighter’s Burn Center of the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. Prior to completing this advanced training in Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Barsoumian successfully completed a Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Center for Advanced Surgical Specialties of North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System (Syosset Hospital).

Dr. Raffi Barsoumian offers his patients the most cutting-edge treatments for surgical and medical hair restoration. He is one of the few surgeons in the United States who is able to perform the three proven methods of hair transplantation: Artas ix Robotic FUE, Manual FUE and the FUT (Strip). Do Hair Transplants Hurt?

At Precision Hair Restoration, your procedure is performed under a local anesthetic, so you will be conscious and completely comfortable throughout the entire procedure. After the procedure, there might be a little mild discomfort and swelling for 1-3 days that can easily be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Is a Hair Transplant The Only Way to Treat Hair Loss?

No, we have a variety of non-surgical hair restoration treatments, in addition to surgical. How Long Does a Hair Transplant Take?

It depends upon how many hair follicles are being transplanted, but 4 to 8 hours is a good estimate. You will be completely comfortable the entire time, and even have a lunch break. Many of our patients watch a movie or listen to music during the procedure so the itme passes as pleasantly as possible.

Are There Non-surgical Hair Restoration Treatments?

Yes, options such as medication, PRP, Alma TED, and Low Level Laser Therapy are among the non-surgical options to treat hair loss.

What Types of FUE Procedures Do You Offer?

As part of our commitment to offering the latest in hair restoration technology, we are proud to offer two robot-assisted methods of FUE. The ARTAS® Robotic Hair Restoration System is an FDA-cleared, physician-assisted system that intelligently analyzes and selects the best donor area graft candidates for minimally invasive procedures. It also allows for a customized, precision hairline design. NeoGraft® is another FDA-cleared, robot-assisted method for FUE hair restoration. This state-of-the-art robot automates the follicular unit extraction (FUE) process, making it more efficient and less invasive. NeoGraft® procedures generally take a less time than ARTAS® procedures.
